Moon Fries is a locally owned slopeside restaurant at Copper Mountain’s Center Village.

Head Chef and Kitchen Manager

We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Head Chef and Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure exceptional food quality, maintain efficient workflow, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. Your leadership will inspire staff, optimize kitchen performance, and deliver outstanding dining experiences. Duties

Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow from food preparation to service delivery.
Lead, train, and develop kitchen staff to uphold standards of food quality, safety, and customer service excellence.
Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize costs.
Supervise food handling procedures in compliance with health regulations and ensure proper food safety practices are followed at all times.
Utilize POS system Toast for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
Coordinate with staff to ensure timely service and resolve any operational issues promptly.
Use your culinary genius to help create new menu items and specials.
Refine food production processes.
Conduct staff interviews, performance reviews, and training sessions to foster a motivated and skilled team.
Monitor kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards to maintain a safe working environment.
Assist in budgeting efforts by controlling labor costs and managing operational expenses effectively.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food service management or restaurant management with a strong background in kitchen operations.
Extensive culinary experience with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
Demonstrated supervising experience within quick service restaurants or casual dining is highly valued.
Knowledge of POS systems for efficient transaction processing.
Strong understanding of inventory control, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to train, develop, and motivate staff members.
Experience managing budgets, controlling costs, and implementing operational improvements.
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive guest experiences.
Ability to handle cash accurately and perform shift management duties effectively.
SafeServe Manager and TIPS certifications (can be acquired post-hire).

Compensation

Range: $65,000 to $85,000, Salary plus bonuses and opportunities for profit sharing. In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Moon Fries provides a good-faith estimate of the salary range for this role. Final pay will depend on experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
