Compensation: $100-110/1099/paid for direct and indirect time.

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and student-centered Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide school-based occupational therapy services to students within a school system.
The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and provide therapeutic services to students whose occupational performance needs impact their ability to participate in and access their educational environment. The OT will collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers to support student success and ensure services are provided in accordance with each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional needs within the educational environment.
- Develop and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions based on evaluation results and student needs.
- Provide direct and/or consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with student IEPs.
- Address areas such as fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, handwriting, sensory processing, self-care, functional participation, positioning, and other skills that impact educational access.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute evaluation results, present levels, goals, accommodations, recommendations, and progress information.
- Develop appropriate and measurable occupational therapy goals in collaboration with the educational team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, progress reports, and other required records.
- Monitor student progress and modify interventions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the student's daily educational environment.
- Provide staff and caregiver education regarding strategies, accommodations, sensory supports, positioning, and other interventions that promote student participation.
- Recommend appropriate adaptive equipment, assistive technology, classroom modifications, and environmental supports when needed.
- Support students' ability to participate in classroom activities, school routines, self-care tasks, and other educational activities.
- Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, teachers, school psychologists, nurses, special education staff, and other members of the educational team.
- Complete required documentation and services within established school and IEP timelines.
- Maintain student confidentiality and follow district policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Communicate professionally and consistently with school administrators, teachers, families, and other members of the educational team.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state Occupational Therapist license in good standing.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- School-based experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary educational team.
- Ability to manage a caseload and meet IEP and school-system deadlines.
- Commitment to providing student-centered, functional, and educationally relevant occupational therapy services.
School-Based Expectations
The Occupational Therapist should understand that school-based occupational therapy focuses on supporting students' ability to access, participate in, and benefit from their educational environment.
The OT is expected to:
- Provide services according to each student's IEP.
- Meet required service and documentation timelines.
- Maintain professional communication with school personnel and families.
- Protect student confidentiality and privacy.
- Follow school safety procedures and district policies.
- Collaborate with the educational team to promote student independence and participation.
- Communicate promptly regarding scheduling concerns, student needs, absences, or changes that may affect service delivery.
- Provide recommendations that are practical and appropriate for the student's school environment.

Technology & Documentation
The Occupational Therapist must be comfortable learning and using school-specific documentation and communication systems. Training and orientation will be provided on applicable school platforms and procedures.
