Description

Help shape the future of education by supporting high school students as they begin their college journey at Mohave College.

Mohave College is seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Office Technician to join the Early College team within the Admissions department. Working under the supervision of the Director of Early College, this position plays an important role in supporting concurrent and dual enrollment students through the admissions and enrollment process while serving as a key connection between Mohave College and K-12 partners throughout the region.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping students succeed, staying organized in a fast-paced environment, and providing exceptional customer service to students, families, school partners, and campus departments. The successful candidate will support admissions operations by assisting with application processing, document collection and verification, concurrent and dual enrollment registration, placement guideline evaluation, and student communications while ensuring compliance with College procedures and state and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and service-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. They are collaborative, responsive, and committed to creating a welcoming and positive experience for prospective students as they take the next step in their educational journey.

Typical Duties

Track and strategically follow up on prospective inquiries and students.
Assist prospective students by providing detailed information about application procedures, admission requirements, college programs, and campus processes, particularly for concurrent and dual enrollment.
Review and process admission applications, including all documentation necessary to determine residency requirements, ensuring completeness and accuracy in adherence to institutional policies and standards.
Collect and verify documents from K-12 institutions to facilitate the admissions process and concurrent and dual enrollment registration.
Evaluate placement guidelines to ensure appropriate course placement for incoming students.
Schedule and administer placement testing, if applicable.
Assist with scheduling program presentations and track participant attendance.
Process and maintain accurate and detailed records and documents; prepare student records and associated correspondence; perform data entry, document imaging, and retrieve information from databases while verifying the completeness and accuracy of the information submitted.
Respond promptly to inquiries via various communication channels (phone, email, in-person) to address concerns and provide accurate information regarding the application and enrollment processes.
Collaborate with other departments to facilitate a smooth transition for admitted students.
Participate in the enrollment management planning process and assist students with the enrollment process.
Attend meetings and serve on committees as assigned.
Handle highly sensitive information and confidential records and materials in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Adhere to college, federal, and state administrative procedures, guidelines, initiatives, and directives to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations affecting college operations.
This position serves as a front-line representative for students and requires a consistent in-person presence to effectively support student engagement, services, and program delivery.
Regular travel between campuses is required to support placement testing, events, orientations, trainings, team-building activities, and other program needs. Employees in this position must be able to travel consistently as needed to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
Perform other tasks of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution
Two (2) years or more of experience in an office setting

Any combination of education and experience that results in possession of skills, knowledge and behaviors as outlined in the position's core competencies below.

Preferred Qualification

Two (2) or more years of experience in a community college or higher education setting.
