Full Job Description

Position Summary: We couldn’t get by without YOU! You are the dentist’s “wingman” from the start of the appointment and past the finish line, helping to transform smiles. With a kind word or compassionate gesture, a Dental Assistant can create a calm, comfortable atmosphere for anxious patients, reassuring them of relief for and satisfaction of their dental concerns. This engaging, highly functioning position provides an exciting challenge for quick thinkers as you anticipate the needs of both the doctor and patient, actively listening to deliver consistent “guest-centric” care.

Position Specifics & Requirements

Full-Time (32+ hours/week), on-site in Iron Mountain
Prior Dental Assistant experience preferred
OSHA / CPR Knowledge, HIPAA Confidentiality Standards (In-House Training)
Work both independently and collaboratively with team members
Maintain dependable and punctual attendance in accordance with schedule
Handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently and effectively
Adhere to all healthcare industry and operations’ best practices, adapting to new technologies and processes as developed

Essential Position Responsibilities & Duties

Relationship Builder: Interact with patients in a cheerful and professional manner; update and maintain patient records; offer items to increase patients’ comfort through treatment experience.
Radiography Technician: Obtain patient x-rays.
Clinical Aid: Assist doctors with dental procedures including anesthesia, surgery, primary and perioperative care; obtain necessary equipment and instruments for treatment; monitor doctor’s daily itinerary to efficiently perform treatment as scheduled.
Sterilization Technician: Monitor treatment facilities for organization; clean treatment facilities post-procedure and prepare for next incoming patient; sterilize instruments and equipment to standards.
Communications: Respond to patient inquiries; prepare patients’ individual treatment plans as directed by doctor; follow-up with vendors for timely arrival of dental appliances, supplies ordered; assist Front Office with appropriate scheduling of patient treatment.
Operations Assistant: Monitor and maintain supplies, inventory within treatment facilities; other responsibilities and duties as they are assigned.
