Customer Service Representative (CSR/Teller)

Location: Traverse City – Garfield Branch

$17.00 - $18.00 an hour depending on experience.

We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative (CSR/Teller) to join our Traverse City–Garfield team. In this role, you will be one of the first people our customers see—greeting them warmly, processing transactions accurately, answering questions, and helping connect them with the products, services, or team members who can best meet their financial needs.

This is more than a teller position. It is an opportunity to learn banking, build meaningful customer relationships, and grow with a community-focused team.

What You’ll Do:

Deliver world-class service and go above and beyond for our customers.
Process deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
Listen carefully to customers, identify their needs, and connect them with appropriate products, services, or banking specialists.
Develop a strong understanding of Honor Bank’s products and services.
Balance a cash drawer and maintain accuracy when handling cash.
Learn and follow security procedures, banking regulations, computer applications, and branch-operating procedures.
Protect customer information and promptly report suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity.
Support coworkers and provide coverage at other Honor Bank branches when needed.

What We’re Looking For:

Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
Excellent organization and attention to detail
Confidence using computers and learning new systems
Dependability, flexibility, professionalism, and composure under pressure
A team-focused attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Cash-handling or customer service experience is helpful, but banking experience is not required—we will train the right person!

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required
One to three years of related customer service, cash-handling, or professional experience preferred
A valid driver’s license is required, as occasional travel to other Honor Bank branches may be necessary to assist with staffing coverage.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to:

Stand for extended periods while assisting customers
Bend, twist, use stairs, and move comfortably throughout the teller area
Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds, including boxes of paper, coin bags, and similar materials
