Senior Home Delivery Coordinator

Reports To: Programs Manager

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or experience in human services, logistics, warehouse operations, or a related field preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in delivery, warehouse operations, customer service, or community outreach preferred. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver's license with an acceptable driving record and maintain insurability under the Food Bank's insurance policy. Ability to safely operate cargo vans or light commercial vehicles. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and basic computer skills required. Experience working with inventory management systems, Microsoft Office, and mobile technology preferred.

Summary

The Senior Home Delivery Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, preparing, and delivering shelf-stable food boxes and other nutrition assistance directly to eligible seniors throughout the Food Bank's service area. This position serves as a key point of contact for senior participants by providing exceptional customer service while ensuring timely, accurate, and compassionate deliveries.

In addition to delivery responsibilities, this position maintains inventory records, prepares delivery documentation, assists with participant records, and ensures compliance with all Food Bank, agency, and grant requirements. The Senior Home Delivery Coordinator works collaboratively with warehouse, programs, volunteers, and Mobile Pantry staff to ensure seniors receive safe, nutritious food with dignity and respect.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProgram Operations

Prepare, organize, and verify senior food boxes and other home delivery orders for accuracy.
Safely load and unload delivery vehicles using proper lifting and food safety procedures.
Deliver shelf-stable food and other approved items directly to participants' homes according to established delivery schedules.
Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to all program participants.
Obtain required delivery documentation, signatures, or electronic confirmations as required.
Report participant concerns, changes in living situations, wellness concerns, or delivery issues to the appropriate supervisor.
Assist with special food distributions, emergency response efforts, and seasonal programs as assigned.
Collaborate with the Mobile Pantry team to coordinate food distributions, share resources, and provide operational support for mobile pantry events as needed.

Inventory and Warehouse Responsibilities

Assist with inventory control for senior home delivery products.
Rotate inventory using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practices.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs.
Maintain clean, organized staging and storage areas.
Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing incoming product designated for senior programs.
Operate warehouse equipment safely, including pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).

Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain accurate delivery logs and participant records.
Enter delivery information into agency databases and tracking systems.
Assist with route planning and scheduling to maximize delivery efficiency.
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Maintain confidentiality of participant information in accordance with agency policies.
Support grant reporting by maintaining accurate records of meals, deliveries, and inventory.

Vehicle Responsibilities

Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after routes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned delivery vehicle.
Report maintenance needs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately.
Ensure all deliveries are completed safely while following all traffic laws and agency driving policies.

Customer Service

Build positive relationships with participating seniors and community partners.
Represent Second Harvest Food Bank professionally in the community.
Respond professionally to participant questions and concerns.
Notify supervisors of any participant needs that may require additional assistance or referrals.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
