MEP Project Manager (Mechanical / HVAC / Process Piping)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects with a strong emphasis on mechanical systems, HVAC, and process piping. The role is responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards while coordinating clients, design teams, subcontractors, and site personnel.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of MEP construction projects with emphasis on mechanical scope including HVAC and process piping.

Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, cash flow forecasts, and progress reporting to stakeholders.

Coordinate design reviews, engineering submittals, RFIs, and technical clarifications with architects, engineers, and vendors.

Oversee procurement and material management to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

Manage subcontractors and on-site crews; assign work, monitor productivity, and enforce quality control and safety procedures.

Prepare and control change orders, claims, and contract modifications; assess cost and schedule impacts.

Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work conforms to drawings, specifications, and applicable codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, local codes).

Lead commissioning, testing, and start-up activities for HVAC and process systems, ensuring systems perform to design intent.

Maintain clear client communication, provide regular progress updates, and build strong client relationships.

Use BIM/Clash detection tools, AutoCAD/Revit, and construction management software to coordinate installations and mitigate conflicts.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience managing MEP or mechanical construction projects; proven experience with HVAC and process piping systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical codes, standards, and best practices (ASHRAE, NFPA, ASME piping where applicable).

Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and procurement processes.

Proficiency with project management tools (MS Project or Primavera) and design/CAD/BIM tools (AutoCAD, Revit preferred).

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Experience with commissioning, testing, and start-up of HVAC and process systems.

Familiarity with construction safety standards and certifications (OSHA 30 preferred).

Professional certifications such as PMP or PE are a plus.

Ability to travel to project sites and work in field environments as required.
