We are currently accepting applications for the role of Apprentice Teacher in an upper elementary classroom, under the mentorship of an experienced Randolph teacher. This position is ideal for someone passionate about elementary education, progressive pedagogy, and learning through nature and play.
What You’ll Do:
As an Apprentice Teacher, you will work closely with mentor teachers and administrators to support the development and well-being of children ages 3–11. This is a hands-on learning opportunity in a collaborative, outdoor-centered environment. You’ll also take an active role in our Afterschool Program and school-wide events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with children that honor their individuality, curiosity, and developmental stage
- Collaborate with and learn from experienced mentor teachers
- Plan and implement interest-based, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Participate in the school’s Afterschool Program with mixed-age groups
- Support problem-solving and conflict resolution in a facilitative—not directive—way
- Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with parents, colleagues, and school leadership
- Reflect Randolph’s values inside and outside the classroom through integrity and professionalism
- Attend and support school events beyond regular hours (e.g. community events, fundraisers, trips)

Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or degree in early childhood education or a related field
- Experience working with children in school, camp, or childcare settings
- Interest in progressive, play-based, or nature-based education
- Comfort working outdoors in all seasons
