Hands in Harmony is seeking passionate Music Therapists to join our growing team! We serve a diverse client base across the lifespan in community, school based, medical, early intervention, behavioral health, and memory care settings. We welcome Bachelor’s and Master’s level clinicians, and encourage individuals eligible to sit for the MT-BC exam to apply!
About the Role
The Music Therapist (MT-BC) will provide Music Therapy services across a variety of clinical and community settings, including; newborns and families, Early Intervention, school-based, adults with disabilities, adolescence and adult psych, hospitals, memory care and community group.

The Music Therapist will facilitate individual and group sessions across multiple settings, complete assessments, contribute to program development, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, families, and caregivers. This position offers opportunities to supervise students and participate in the continued expansion of music therapy in a growing state.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and group music therapy services (20-25 billable hours per week)
- Conduct clinical evaluations across a variety of settings
- Develop and implement treatment goals and data driven session plans
- Complete daily documentation in alignment with organizational and contractual requirements, including quantitative and qualitative data
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans for diverse populations
- Provide in-services, workshops, and presentations as needed
- Maintain schedule, documentation, communication with teams, potential referrals, and facilities
- Travel to community, home-based, school-based, medical, and facility-based sessions
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, families, caregivers, and Hands in Harmony colleagues
- Supervise practicum students and interns

Qualifications
- MT-BC or MT-BC eligible upon hire
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Therapy
- Eligibility for Rhode Island music therapy licensure (support provided)
- Strong clinical musicianship and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience in the human services field
- Ability to pass BCI and fingerprinting checks
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Training in Neurologic Music Therapy®
- Experience with multiple clinical populations
- Experience in program development, supervision, or teaching
- Strong assessment skills and the ability to interpret clinical data
- Excellen berbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide group, individual and family-based services
- Effective consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Strong clinical decision making aligned with organizational mission
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule
Full time, approximately forty hours per week, including direct service, documentation, team collaboration, and travel. Schedules are created in alignment with client and program needs. Schedule is typically Monday-Friday 8-4:30
Working Conditions

- May include indoor and outdoor sessions
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb stairs, and lift up to 15 pounds
