A Day in the Life of a Nurse Educator
In this role, you'll design and deliver NCLEX preparation programs tailored specifically for internationally educated nurses working toward U.S. licensure. You'll provide one-on-one coaching, lead group instruction, and track student progress to help nurses build the skills and confidence they need to pass the Next Generation NCLEX. Your work will directly support IsoMed's mission of helping international nurses successfully transition into U.S. nursing careers.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering live NCLEX review courses, workshops, and individualized coaching sessions
- Teaching nursing concepts, clinical judgment, and test-taking strategies aligned with NGN standards
- Monitoring student performance and creating targeted improvement plans
- Conducting regular progress meetings and providing ongoing motivation and accountability
- Supporting nurses who've previously failed the NCLEX with tailored remediation strategies
- Helping international nurses adapt to U.S. nursing terminology, clinical expectations, and healthcare systems
- Collaborating with English-language support, recruitment, licensing, and immigration teams
- Tracking pass rates, analyzing performance trends, and recommending program improvements
- Creating educational content for onboarding and professional development
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Active Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential
- 3+ years of clinical nursing experience
- 2+ years of teaching, tutoring, or nursing education experience
- Demonstrated success preparing students for the NCLEX
- Strong knowledge of Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) testing standards
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural populations
- RN License preferred
- Experience with internationally educated nurses or English language learners preferred
- Spanish language proficiency a plus
