Full Job Description

Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Contract Manager

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced EPC Contract Manager to support the execution of large-scale industrial projects from project award through final closeout. This role is responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects while protecting the company's contractual interests throughout the entire project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing large industrial or power generation EPC projects from beginning to end, including project turnover, execution, contract administration, claims management, schedule analysis, dispute resolution, and project closeout. This individual will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure successful project execution and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

Manage EPC contracts and consortium agreements throughout the entire project lifecycle from project turnover through final completion and closeout.
Lead contract administration activities for large industrial EPC projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, commercial terms, and project requirements.
Review and interpret EPC contracts, consortium agreements, specifications, and commercial documents while identifying contractual risks and opportunities.
Develop and maintain contract management tools including:

o Contract summaries

o Claims registers

o Correspondence logs

o Notice templates

o Standard operating procedures

Serve as the primary contract management resource for project teams regarding commercial issues, claims strategy, and contract interpretation.
Partner with Project Managers to develop contract execution strategies that minimize risk and maximize commercial outcomes.
Prepare, review, and manage contractual correspondence, notices, change orders, and claims documentation.
Track project history and maintain detailed documentation supporting claim defense and dispute resolution.
Support schedule analysis, delay analysis, and forensic scheduling activities related to project claims.
Identify contractual risks including potential liquidated damages (LDs), schedule impacts, commercial exposures, and financial opportunities.
Participate in customer meetings, contract negotiations, commercial discussions, and claim resolution efforts.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Logistics, Legal, Finance, and Project Controls teams.
Ensure accurate commercial reporting and documentation throughout project execution.
Support dispute resolution efforts through project settlements and contract negotiations.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
5+ years of Contract Management experience supporting large industrial EPC projects from project kickoff through final completion and closeout.
Experience supporting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Turnkey projects within one or more of the following industries:

o Power Generation

o Utilities

o Oil & Gas

o Heavy Industrial Construction

o Energy Infrastructure

Demonstrated experience managing contracts throughout the full project lifecycle, including:

o Project turnover

o Engineering

o Procurement

o Construction

o Commissioning

o Project closeout

Experience with construction claims, delay claims, liquidated damages (LDs), contract negotiations, and dispute resolution.
Strong understanding of contract administration, commercial risk management, and change management.
Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Ability to travel up to 15%.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting utility-scale or power generation EPC projects.
Knowledge of schedule analysis and forensic scheduling.
Experience with AI-based contract management platforms or contract lifecycle management software.
Proven ability to negotiate complex commercial issues and resolve contractual disputes.
Experience leading commercial strategy on multi-million-dollar industrial construction projects.

The ideal candidate has successfully managed the commercial and contractual execution of large industrial EPC projects from beginning to end, working closely with project teams to mitigate risk, resolve claims, support successful project delivery, and protect the company's commercial interests throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Pay: $135,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
