About the Opportunity
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Orlando Airport is seeking an experienced, driven, and results-oriented Sales Manager to join our team and take an active role in growing hotel revenue, strengthening market relationships, and increasing business opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality sales professional who understands the Orlando hotel market, enjoys building long-term client relationships, and is motivated by achieving measurable sales results.
Knowledge of the Orlando hospitality and local business market is strongly preferred. Experience selling hotel accommodations to corporate accounts, leisure groups, SMERF, government, sports groups, airline-related business, and other market segments is a significant plus.
The ideal candidate will be a confident relationship builder who can identify new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans designed to increase hotel occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall room revenue.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new corporate, group, leisure, government, and local business accounts.
- Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified sales leads.
- Conduct proactive outside sales calls, client visits, networking, presentations, and business development activities.
- Solicit new accounts through telephone prospecting, email outreach, networking, community involvement, and in-person sales calls.
- Generate leads from local businesses, travel organizations, meeting planners, sports organizations, tour operators, airlines, and other relevant market segments.
- Monitor local and competitive market activity and identify opportunities to capture additional business.
- Work closely with hotel leadership and revenue management to maximize sales opportunities and achieve financial goals.
Account Management & Relationship Building
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, meeting planners, travel professionals, and community partners.
- Conduct regular account reviews and follow up with clients to identify additional business opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of accounts, contacts, sales activities, leads, and opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to sales inquiries, proposals, RFPs, and group opportunities.
- Conduct hotel tours and sales presentations for prospective clients.
- Ensure client expectations are communicated effectively to the hotel operations team.
Group & Business Development
- Prospect for new group and corporate business and actively pursue qualified leads.
- Assist with group blocks, rooming lists, contracts, and other sales-related documentation as needed.
- Build relationships with organizations that regularly require hotel accommodations.
- Seek opportunities connected to Orlando's major attractions, airport traffic, conventions, sports, entertainment, healthcare, education, government, and corporate markets.
- Participate in local networking events, trade shows, industry meetings, and community activities that generate business for the hotel.
Market Knowledge & Strategy
- Maintain strong knowledge of the Orlando hotel and hospitality market, including competitors, demand generators, major businesses, attractions, events, and seasonal trends.
- Monitor competitor rates, promotions, positioning, and sales activity.
- Identify emerging market segments and opportunities for the hotel.
- Provide management with relevant market intelligence and recommendations.
- Understand the unique opportunities associated with the Orlando International Airport market.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with the General Manager, Director/Regional Sales leadership, Front Office, Operations, and Revenue Management teams.
- Communicate upcoming groups, VIPs, special requests, and sales commitments clearly to hotel operations.
- Support a positive guest experience by ensuring sales commitments are properly communicated and delivered.
- Participate in sales meetings, revenue meetings, staff meetings, and other hotel meetings as required.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- 2+ years of hotel sales experience preferred, with demonstrated success in generating new business.
- Strong knowledge of the Orlando hospitality and business market is a major plus.
- Proven ability to prospect for and close new business.
- Experience developing and maintaining corporate and group accounts.
- Strong understanding of hotel sales practices, local market dynamics, and revenue-generating strategies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Professional appearance and a confident, outgoing personality.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent follow-up and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and hotel sales systems/CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective member of the hotel leadership team.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to sales rather than relying solely on inbound business.
Open Availability Required
This position requires open availability, including the ability to work varying schedules when business needs require it.
Flexibility is important because sales opportunities and client needs do not always occur during traditional business hours.
