Field Service Technician – Aquarium, Pond, Pool & Hot Tub Maintenance Job Overview
AquaVerse LLC is seeking a reliable, motivated, and hardworking Field Service Technician to join our growing team. AquaVerse provides professional aquarium, pond, pool, and hot tub maintenance services to residential and commercial customers throughout the area.
In this role, you will travel to customer locations to perform routine cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and general service on aquariums, ponds, pools, hot tubs, and related equipment. We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in doing a job well, and is comfortable working independently while providing excellent customer service.
Experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who is dependable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of freshwater and saltwater aquariums, ponds, pools, and hot tubs.
- Clean tanks, filters, pumps, plumbing components, and other aquatic equipment.
- Perform water testing and make appropriate adjustments to maintain proper water quality.
- Assist with pool and hot tub cleaning, chemical testing, balancing, and routine maintenance.
- Troubleshoot pumps, filters, heaters, lighting, and other equipment.
- Assist with aquarium setups, moves, installations, and equipment replacements.
- Perform seasonal pond, pool, and water-feature maintenance as needed.
- Safely travel between multiple residential and commercial customer locations throughout the workday.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with customers while working in their homes or businesses.
- Communicate maintenance concerns, equipment problems, or recommended services to management.
- Keep accurate records of services performed and supplies or chemicals used.
- Properly maintain company tools, equipment, and service areas.
- Follow all company procedures and safety requirements.
- Assist with other AquaVerse service projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Comfortable working inside and outside of customers' homes and businesses and maintaining a professional appearance and attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Basic mechanical ability and comfort working with pumps, filters, hoses, plumbing, and similar equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and established service procedures.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including frequent bending, kneeling, working outdoors and around water, and safely lifting and moving up to 50 lbs. This position regularly involves handling water, rocks, equipment, and other heavy materials.
- Comfortable working around water, fish, aquatic animals, and pool/spa chemicals.
- Previous aquarium, pond, pool, hot tub, landscaping, maintenance, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required. If a company vehicle is unavailable, employees may be required to use their personal vehicle for work-related travel and will receive mileage reimbursement at the current IRS standard mileage rate. Personal vehicles must maintain valid registration and insurance and comply with all applicable state and local requirements.
