Our Mission
Little Wellness Pediatrics exists because I believe pediatric care can be better.
I created this practice to provide families with a different healthcare experience—one where they never feel rushed, where parents have a genuine voice in their child's care, and where relationships are at the heart of every visit.
Our practice takes an integrative, whole-child approach to pediatric medicine. We value informed consent, respect the important role parents play in healthcare decisions, and strive to understand the full picture of a child's health rather than simply treating symptoms. We believe in asking thoughtful questions, looking for underlying contributors to illness when appropriate, and partnering with families to help children grow into healthier, stronger, and more resilient adults.

About Little Wellness Pediatrics
Little Wellness Pediatrics is an independent Direct Primary Care pediatric practice serving children from birth through young adulthood.
We intentionally keep our patient panel smaller so we can provide longer appointments, same-day and next-day sick visits, direct access to the physician, and a relationship built on trust, communication, and education.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building long-term relationships with families rather than working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The Position
This is much more than a traditional Medical Assistant role.
As one of the first team members of our practice, you will become one of the primary faces of Little Wellness Pediatrics. You'll build meaningful relationships with families, help children feel safe and comfortable, support the physician during patient care, and help create the experience families have every time they walk through our doors.
This is a fully cross-trained position. You will work in both clinical and administrative roles, helping wherever needed to provide exceptional care and service.
Clinical Responsibilities
Candidates should be confident performing—or be eager to master—the following:
Patient Care
- Pediatric vital signs (newborn through adolescence)
- Growth measurements
- Vision and hearing screenings
- Developmental and behavioral screenings
- Medication administration
- Intramuscular injections
- Nebulizer treatments
- Basic wound care
- Dressing changes
- Injury wrapping and splint assistance
- Assisting with outpatient procedures
Laboratory & Clinical Skills
- Pediatric phlebotomy (required)
- Heel sticks and pediatric specimen collection
- Proper specimen labeling, handling, and preparation for outside laboratory processing
- Rapid Strep testing
- COVID-19 testing
- Influenza testing
- RSV testing
- Mononucleosis testing
- Urinalysis
- Hemoglobin testing
- Blood glucose testing
- Urine pregnancy testing
- Other CLIA-waived laboratory testing
Candidates must be comfortable obtaining blood samples from infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents while providing a calm, compassionate experience for both the child and their family.
Administrative Responsibilities
Every member of our team is cross-trained.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting families with warmth and professionalism
- Patient check-in and check-out
- Scheduling appointments
- Answering incoming phone calls
- Responding to secure patient messages
- Assisting families with membership enrollment
- Answering questions about our Direct Primary Care membership model
- Maintaining accurate documentation
- Managing patient records
- Supporting physician workflow throughout the day
- Learning and utilizing Hint Clinical and other practice software
Compensation, Schedule & BenefitsCompensation
- $22.00–$27.00 per hour, depending on experience, certification, demonstrated clinical competency, and overall fit with our practice.
- Performance and compensation will be formally reviewed following the successful completion of a 90-day introductory period, with opportunities for merit-based increases.
Schedule
- Full-time position (approximately 36–40 hours per week)
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- No evenings, weekends, or on-call responsibilities

Qualifications Required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or equivalent military medical training)
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or equivalent nationally recognized credential)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated competency in pediatric phlebotomy, including blood collection from infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents
- Experience performing pediatric vital signs, medication administration, intramuscular injections, CLIA-waived laboratory testing, specimen collection, and outpatient clinical procedures under physician supervision
- Comfortable learning and utilizing electronic medical records and practice management software
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Knowledge of infection prevention, OSHA standards, and safe handling of biohazardous materials
- Commitment to maintaining strict HIPAA compliance and protecting patient privacy and confidentiality
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work in both clinical and front office roles
Strongly Preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Previous pediatric Medical Assistant experience
- Experience in pediatric primary care or pediatric urgent care
- Experience with Hint Clinical
- Experience in a Direct Primary Care or concierge medicine practice
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to assist with positioning pediatric patients safely during examinations and procedures
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform phlebotomy, laboratory testing, injections, and other clinical procedures
