Full Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking (CCAHT) unites and equips our community - Knoxville and the 33 counties of East Tennessee - to end human trafficking through prevention and intervention, while providing survivors with trauma-informed, comprehensive aftercare services. Through our direct services program, Grow Free TN, we offer a variety of services to those impacted by human trafficking. All of our services are free, individualized, and all-inclusive.

Through the Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance, CCAHT serves as the single point of contact partner for the East Tennessee region.

At CCAHT, we choose love first. When it comes to the clients we serve, we understand that healing takes time. Each client’s needs and journey toward restoration will be different, which is why our aftercare programming is survivor-centered and grounded in industry best practices and research. We know that it takes people to serve people, and we are seeking passionate, qualified individuals to join our team as we work to empower survivors and foster positive change in upper East Tennessee.

POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing and cultivating external relationships on behalf of CCAHT, strengthening internal collaboration to support operational efficiency, and overseeing organizational communications and marketing efforts. The Community Engagement Coordinator leads volunteer recruitment and training efforts and supports special events and donor cultivation activities, helping build meaningful relationships that advance CCAHT’s mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Outreach

Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, partner organizations, local businesses, civic groups, and community leaders to support CCAHT’s mission and visibility
Represent CCAHT at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities
Support the mission of CCAHT by cultivating community partnerships that align with the organization’s vision and promote awareness of and support for survivor services

Volunteers

Manage all activities related to CCAHT volunteers, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing support
Schedule and coordinate volunteers for approved projects in collaboration with staff to ensure projects are well-planned and completed effectively
Maintain the volunteer database, including accurate tracking, reporting, and documentation of volunteer hours
Regularly review and update the volunteer handbook to reflect current practices and policies
Develop and implement a volunteer stewardship plan to support retention and meaningful volunteer involvement
Support the execution of annual fundraising efforts and community events by coordinating volunteers, assisting with logistics, and supporting in-kind solicitation as needed

Development

Assist with donor cultivation and stewardship activities in collaboration with the development team
Assist the Director of Development with the creation and distribution of agency impact reports

Marketing

Oversee organizational communications efforts, including website content, digital marketing strategies (social media, email marketing, blog development), direct mail, and press releases
Coordinate the development, production, and distribution of marketing collateral, including brochures, flyers, and program one-pagers
Support fulfillment of media inquiries and coordination of local news appearances for awareness, education, and event promotion

General

Maintain professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reviewing relevant publications, researching best practices, and engaging in professional networks and organizations
Perform other administrative duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The Community Engagement Coordinator will be thoroughly committed to the Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking’s mission. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of related work experience/success in the area of non-profit project management, community outreach, communications and marketing, administrative support, or social services
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability and willingness to work irregular hours
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Persistence and flexibility, with ability to multitask and prioritize
Fast learner, quick mind, and capacity for hard work
Valid Driver’s license and access to personal transportation
Current insurance and vehicle registration
Successful completion of criminal background checks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to communicate clearly in English both written and verbal
Good visual & audio capabilities
Sit or stand for extended periods
Bend, stoop, and/or squat
PC/Keyboarding abilities
Lift up to 40 pounds
Work extended hours as needed (>40 per week)
