About Helping Hands Counseling

Helping Hands Counseling is a growing group practice in Knoxville, Tennessee, committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where both clients and clinicians can grow. We believe therapy is not one-size-fits-all and value authentic connection, collaboration, continued learning, and trauma-informed care.

Our practice serves children, teens, adults, and couples with a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, relationship concerns, ADHD, and more.

We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and growth-oriented therapist to join our team.

Position Overview

The Mental Health Therapist will provide outpatient psychotherapy to clients within their areas of competence and clinical interest. This position is ideal for a clinician who values autonomy while also wanting the support, community, and resources of a group practice.

Therapists at Helping Hands Counseling are encouraged to develop their clinical style, pursue areas of specialization, and participate in continuing education that supports their professional goals.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, family, and/or couples therapy based on training and scope of practice
Complete assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
Collaborate with clients, families, providers, and other professionals when appropriate
Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential clinical practices
Participate in staff meetings, consultation, and practice development as appropriate
Maintain required licensure, continuing education, and professional liability coverage
Develop and maintain a caseload consistent with agreed-upon expectations
Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and client-centered care
Communicate professionally with clients and administrative staff

Qualifications

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or another eligible behavioral health field
Licensed or license-eligible to practice in Tennessee
Commitment to ethical, compassionate, and evidence-informed care
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Interest in continued professional development and clinical specialization

Experience or training in trauma treatment, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, somatic approaches, play therapy, couples therapy, or other specialized modalities is welcomed but not required.
