Job description

We are the first practice in Fountain City specializing in endodontics. Our aim is not only to provide much needed endodontic care to the local community and beyond, but also to set the standard in patient care and inter-disciplinary communication. We strive to live by our mission: “to make every patient’s experience seamless, comfortable, and filled with kindness as we deliver the highest standard of care with integrity, mastery, and empathy.”

We are looking for a sterile technician who can help bring this vision to life. Someone ready to learn with energy, enthusiasm, and optimism. Someone who is a strong communicator with a kind, professional demeanor.

We are looking for an individual who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. You’ll ensure excellent customer service and lift administrative and basic dental tasks off the dentist’s shoulders. Sterile techs should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Sterlization Technition Responsibilities

· Process dental instruments and patient care items through the sterilization process safely and efficiently

· Maintain sterilization equipment, following manufacture maintenance guidelines and intervals

· Turn over operatories, transporting dirty instruments to the sterilization area for processing

· Set up treatment rooms for the next patient procedure including, but not limited to, set-up, decontamination, sterilization of all instruments, cleaning handpieces, and restocking supplies

· Provide customer service support to patients by escorting them to and from the treatment room as needed

· Assist doctor during the clinical examination

· Record exam notes and treatment plans as needed

· Transition exam information to the front office staff for scheduling purposes, as needed

· Take the patient’s blood pressure when necessary

· Help dental assistants, doctors, and front desk staff, when necessary

General Duties

· Turn on equipment in the morning and off at night

· Set up treatment rooms for each patient

· Manage supplies, instruments, and the state of treatment rooms

· Disinfect as required by OSHA and state regulations

· Restock operatories as needed

· Offer assistance to the front office during downtime

· Help clinical assistant as needed

· Assistant and support the doctor in the clinical treatment of patients

Skills

· Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods

· Understanding of health & safety regulations

· Good computer skills, including MS word, and the ability to place, crop, and label photos in a document

· Excellent communication and people skills

· Attention to detail

· Well-organized and reliable

· High school diploma or equivalent required
