LINK, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to lead an organization with energy, purpose, and a commitment to excellence.
Under the authority and guidance of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for leading the overall operations of the organization, providing sound guidance for all functional aspects of LINK, Inc. to achieve the organizational goals and objectives.
The Executive Director will lead an organization that is working to improve the quality of independence for people with disabilities and is committed to providing the Five Core Services of Independent Living. The Executive Director will ensure proper administration of contracts, budgets, finances, personnel, operations, agency & contract goals, resource development, and marketing.
Executive Management
- Serve as leader of the organization (without voting rights), and in that capacity acts as a consultant and resource person to the Board of Directors and its committees.
- Assist the Board of Directors in the development of long-range plans and the implementation of a long-term strategy for LINK that is consistent with the Mission of the organization.
- Implement all policies, programs, and other directives of the Board of Directors.
- Assist the Board Finance Committee in developing financial strategies that ensure adequate funds are available to permit the organization to maintain its operations.
- Work with and provide administrative support to the Board Finance Committee in refining the annual operating budget.
- Provide administrative support to the Board of Directors and Board Finance Committee for fundraising programs, as well as establish positive relationships with existing and potential donors.
- Identify and pursue all appropriate revenue sources and direct fundraising activities.
- Provide information to the Board of Directors on fund development activities.
- Assist the Board of Directors in identifying revenue opportunities and develop and execute strategies to meet the organization's fiscal goals and objectives.
- Attend Board of Director meetings and ensures accurate and complete minutes are maintained.
- Ensure that the Board of Directors is kept fully informed, in a timely manner, about the condition of the organization, its operations, and all-important factors affecting it.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Administration
- Ensure all LINK policies and procedures align with the overall objectives of the organization.
- Establish and maintain record retention policies that ensure adequate recordkeeping in all areas of operations.
- Ensures organizational policies and procedures compliant with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employment and the workplace.
- Establish clear lines of communication and authority and ensure that all correspondence is handled in an effective and timely manner.
- Ensure policies are in place to provide for adequate security, upkeep, and maintenance of all property and equipment owned, rented, or leased by the organization.
- Maintain official records and documents, and ensure their compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all internal matters pertaining to LINK, its members, and its operations.
- Establish and maintain an effective management team and provide appropriate provisions for succession.
- Utilize the talents of staff and empower them to be effective team members.
- Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps, and motivates a staff of top-quality people.
Personnel
- Provide administrative oversight to all areas of human resources management, including establishing and maintaining a professional and competent workforce as is essential to the achievement of the goals and objectives of LINK.
- Ensure personnel policies and procedures are consistent with the overall objectives of the organization.
- Assign areas of responsibility, delegate duties, allocate tasks, and provide general direction to all employees.
- Provide administrative support for all aspects of staff employment, and serve as final authority for all decisions related to the employment process from job offers through termination and separation.
- Promote the objectives of LINK by establishing positive relationships with all employees, volunteers, consumers, the Board of Directors, and its committees.
- Oversee and assist with maintaining an effective employee-relations strategy that provides staff training opportunities, a process for staff feedback, and evaluations of employee performance.
- Establish and maintain a fair and competitive compensation program.
- Set and monitor standards for performance and ethical conduct and administer disciplinary action as appropriate and necessary.
Public Relations/Communications
- Promote the objectives of LINK by establishing positive relationships with the public, community partners, government agencies, other cultural entities, and the media.
- Monitor public perception of activities.
- Actively participate in partner organizations to promote programs and services for people with disabilities.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with the individuals, families, and communities to promote independent living to persons with disabilities.
- Act in a senior public relations role to promote LINK and its goals and objectives at community functions, membership gatherings, or other events that may be requested by the Board of Directors.
- Inform consumers of the organization's goals and objectives, its programs, and activities.
- Serve as an effective spokesperson for LINK and establish sound working relationships, represent organizational programs, and present the organization's point of view to outside agencies, organizations, and the general public.
- Ensure that staff members and employees are well informed and maintain open lines of communications throughout the organization.
- Facilitate an atmosphere of open communication with the staff through regularly scheduled staff meetings and frequent interaction with key personnel.
Finance
- Provide administrative oversight to all areas of financial management to ensure the achievement of the financial goals and objectives of LINK.
- Ensure accounting policies and procedures align with the financial management objectives of the organization.
- Assist the Director of Finance in the development of the annual budget and present it to the Board Finance Committee.
- Ensure that an annual independent audit is conducted and reported to the Board of Directors.
- Provide guidance in the development of all financial reports and report regularly to the Board of Directors on the financial status.
- Monitor expenditures within the total budget and provide authorization for expenditures as necessary.
Program Management/Service Delivery
- Ensure that the programs and services provided by LINK align with the Independent Living Philosophy.
- Ensure that the five Core Services of Independent Living are a focus for LINK, and that those services are delivered at a high level of quality.
- In consultation and conjunction with the Board of Directors, develop, propose, implement, maintain and provide leadership for programs that provide value and maximize benefit to the consumers and the organization.
- Evaluate service delivery for programs to determine if goals and objectives are met, and provide recommendations to modify or terminate programs that do not meet or exceed established goals.
- Provide support to consumers when necessary to ensure their needs are met or exceeded, and any concerns expressed are resolved in a timely fashion.
- The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and bears overall accountability to the Board of Directors as a whole.
- The performance of the Executive Director will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at least once a year.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated strong financial and personnel management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work well with diverse groups, and a commitment to disability rights and the Independent Living philosophy.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Five Core Services of Independent Living
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Social Work, or related fields / or 5+ years of related business experience or Center for Independent Living management.
- Ability to travel, as travel to satellite offices is required.
- Ability to work productively and independently with multiple tasks.
- Computer skills/experience.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of consumer, staff, LINK financial information, and other proprietary information.
Preferred Qualifications
- A personal experience with a disability as recognized by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Business Administration.
- Advanced Computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Experience in a senior executive-management position with organizational and administrative experience in social work management or business management.
- Experience with grant management.
The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and bears overall accountability to the Board of Directors as a whole.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
