Shift: Evenings, 5x8hrs
Hours: 40 hrs/wk
Start Date: Aug 26, 2026
Length: 10 weeks

Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of adult and pediatric cardiac sonography experience, including transesophageal and stress echo procedures.

Details

13-week assignment in an Echocardiography department
Mon-Fri schedule, 7:15 AM-3:45 PM and/or 8:30 AM-5 PM
Potential call coverage (5 PM-7 AM) on weeknights and weekends based on department needs
40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
Adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient population, inpatient and outpatient
Performs transesophageal echocardiography, stress echo, and outreach services
Uses Echo Information Management System and Epic for charting
24-hour on-call availability required with a 30-minute response time
Includes stress lab and stress echo lab procedures, outreach, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed

Requirements

Associate's degree or graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program required
RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) required
BLS certification required
2 years of adult and pediatric cardiac sonography experience required, including transesophageal and stress echo
Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures required
Experience with outreach services helpful
Must understand sterile procedures, isolation precaution techniques, and radiation safety
Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, and pulling
Must be able to reach above shoulder level and endure occasional twisting and turning
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to hear at ordinary conversation level and possess good visual acuity
Epic EMR experience required
License required if applicable

Additional Information

Competently performs complete echocardiographic studies integrating all cardiac echo imaging modalities to obtain comprehensive patient data
Documents patient data and echo exam information accurately using the Echo Information Management System and other applications
Functions independently while using critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Collaborates with Lead Cardiac Sonographers, Advanced Cardiac Sonographers, Echocardiographers, and physicians to assist in interpretation of echocardiographic findings
Assists in orientation, training, and education of trainees, students, and visitors in Cardiovascular Services
Demonstrates flexibility in learning all equipment, imaging specialties, and echocardiography procedures
Must demonstrate proficiency in outlined competencies
Cares for patient populations ranging from neonate to geriatric
COVID vaccination and booster required for consideration
