Company: Wisco Wise Logistics LLC
Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Part-time
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
Pay: $21+ per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Flexible and negotiable
Position Overview
Wisco Wise Logistics is looking for an organized, dependable and self-motivated Driver Hiring & Onboarding Coordinator to help manage the hiring and onboarding process for delivery drivers.
This position will work directly with driver applicants from the time they apply until they are fully approved, onboarded and scheduled for training. The right person will keep candidates moving through each step, communicate clearly and follow up consistently when documents or requirements are missing.
This is not a commission-based recruiting or staffing-agency position. The role focuses on managing our internal driver hiring process and creating a smooth, professional experience for every applicant.
This could be an excellent opportunity for a college student studying human resources, business, communications or a related field. Previous experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person who is organized, professional, comfortable with technology and able to work independently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage driver applications through Indeed and other hiring platforms.
- Review applications and identify candidates who meet basic position requirements.
- Contact qualified applicants promptly by telephone, text and email.
- Conduct initial telephone screenings using company hiring guidelines.
- Schedule interviews with applicants and company leadership.
- Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Prepare and send employment offers and onboarding instructions.
- Guide new hires through the ADP onboarding process.
- Coordinate and track required background checks.
- Coordinate and track required drug testing.
- Follow up with candidates regarding incomplete paperwork, missed appointments or outstanding hiring requirements.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date applicant tracking system.
- Update candidate statuses accurately throughout the hiring process.
- Coordinate new-hire training and orientation schedules with company leadership.
- Confirm that new hires are prepared and understand where and when to report for training.
- Maintain accurate, organized and confidential applicant and employee records.
- Answer basic applicant and new-hire questions.
- Maintain an active pipeline of qualified driver candidates.
- Help update job advertisements and improve applicant communication.
- Identify delays or problems within the hiring process and work with leadership to resolve them.
- Assist with other hiring, onboarding and administrative projects as needed.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this position means:
- Applicants receive timely responses and clear instructions.
- Candidates do not get lost or forgotten during the hiring process.
- Background checks, drug tests and onboarding documents are completed promptly.
- Candidate records and statuses remain accurate and organized.
- New drivers arrive prepared for orientation and training.
- Company leadership receives regular updates on the hiring pipeline.
- Hiring needs are identified early rather than after staffing becomes a problem.
This position requires someone who notices what needs to be done and takes ownership of it. The right person will not need to be reminded repeatedly to follow up with candidates or complete routine tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple candidates and deadlines at the same time.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Dependable and consistent follow-through.
- Comfortable communicating with applicants by telephone, text and email.
- Comfortable learning and using online systems and hiring platforms.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Basic proficiency with email, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Professional, friendly and confident when communicating with applicants.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where hiring needs may change quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with hiring, onboarding, human resources or office administration.
- Experience using ADP or another human-resources information system.
- Experience using Indeed or another hiring or applicant-tracking platform.
- Experience coordinating background checks or drug-testing requirements.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in human resources, business, communications, management or a related field.
- Experience working in transportation, logistics, staffing or another high-volume hiring environment.
Schedule and Availability
This position will generally require approximately 20-30 hours per week.
Hours are flexible and may be arranged around a college schedule, family responsibilities or another part-time commitment. However, the selected employee must maintain a dependable schedule and be available during agreed-upon weekday hours when applicants and vendors can be contacted.
Some tasks may be completed remotely, but regular in-person availability in La Crosse will be required.
The exact schedule will be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.
Compensation
The anticipated pay range is $21+ per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and familiarity with systems such as ADP and Indeed.
This is an hourly position and is not commission-based. There are no placement commissions or staffing-agency fees associated with the role.
