Position Overview
We're looking for dedicated, detail-oriented Housekeeping/Guest Care Specialists who take real pride in their work and hold themselves to a high professional standard. You'll be entrusted with the cleanliness, comfort, and presentation of our guest accommodations, playing a direct role in the experience every guest remembers.
Beyond standard room and public-area cleaning, you may be asked to assist with deep-cleaning projects during slower periods so the resort always presents its best. We're building a team of professional, dependable people who support one another, stay focused on the job, and keep the workplace positive and drama-free.
Weekend and some holiday availability is required. Day shifts only — no nights. Shifts typically run 7-8 hours, with some variation based on scheduling needs. Set, consistent schedules provided.
Core Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms, suites, and public areas thoroughly and efficiently, following resort cleaning checklists and policies.
- Prepare rooms for arrival — bed-making, amenity restocking, and final detail checks — so every room is guest-ready.
- Inspect rooms and public areas for maintenance issues and report them promptly to the appropriate department.
- Coordinate with the front desk on room availability, guest preferences, and special requests.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests promptly, professionally, and with genuine care.
- Follow established hygiene and sanitation protocols to protect guest and staff wellbeing.
- Launder and organize linens and towels, keeping the laundry area efficient and orderly.
- On slower days, assist with deep-cleaning projects in different areas of the resort to ensure the property always presents its best.
- Help maintain the aesthetic appeal of public spaces, including the veranda, gallery, corridors, and recreational areas.
- Track cleaning supply and amenity inventory, flagging restocking needs to management.
- Stay informed on resort facilities, services, and local attractions to assist guests accurately.
- Contribute to a positive, professional team environment through strong work ethic and mutual support.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Who We're Looking For
- Professional appearance and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Self-motivated, with the initiative to identify and complete useful work without constant direction.
- High attention to detail and strict adherence to cleaning checklists and resort policies.
- Dependable, punctual, and a team player who contributes to a calm, professional atmosphere.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with guests and colleagues.
- Flexible, willing to learn, and interested in growing with the resort.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior housekeeping experience, ideally in a high-end resort or hospitality setting, preferred.
- Ability to resolve guest requests courteously and efficiently, aiming to exceed expectations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to take on additional cleaning projects and duties beyond a fixed room checklist, particularly during slower periods.
- Ability to commit to a set weekly schedule, including weekends, as the resort operates year-round.
- Must comply with Hot Lake Springs Resort's dress code and drug and alcohol policies.
- Drug testing is part of the pre-employment hiring process.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands described below are representative of those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions, consistent with applicable law.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30-40 lbs (linens, supplies, and equipment).
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on your feet for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive motions (bed-making, scrubbing, vacuuming) throughout the shift.
- Ability to push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and equipment.
- Tolerance for regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and products, used in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Physical stamina to complete a full day of active, hands-on cleaning work, including deep-cleaning projects.
Professional Appearance & Dress Code
Housekeeping/Guest Care Specialists are expected to maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance while on duty. Hot Lake Springs Resort provides uniform shirts for this position. Employees are expected to wear the provided uniform while working and follow the resort's established dress and grooming standards. Reasonable accommodations will be considered as required by applicable law.
Drug & Alcohol Policy
Hot Lake Springs Resort maintains a strict drug and alcohol policy for employees while on resort property or performing work on behalf of the resort. Employees must report to work fit for duty and remain able to safely and professionally perform their responsibilities throughout the shift.
Use, possession, or impairment from prohibited drugs, alcohol, cannabis, or other intoxicants while working or on resort property is not permitted, consistent with applicable law and resort policy. Applicants must successfully complete the resort's required pre-employment drug screening as a condition of employment.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Housekeeping/Guest Care Specialist does more than complete a checklist — they take pride in getting every detail right and treat slower days as an opportunity to improve the property rather than slow down. They keep the workplace positive and support their teammates, naturally asking, “What can I do to help?”
