Full Job Description

Job Summary: Primary responsibilities are to clean, assemble, package, and sterilize designated instruments and equipment from all areas of the health care facility. Working and operational knowledge of these pieces of equipment and instruments. Demonstrate the ability to follow the guidelines and processes required to safely reprocess endoscopes.

Accurately assemble sets, know what sets are used by each specialty with knowledge of their clinical names to aide in providing each area served.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or GED is required.
Participation in a program for operating room and/or central supply technician is preferred.
Knowledge of basic stock and non-stock supplies used throughout the hospital is preferred.
Must show initiative and be well organized.
Ability to understand and keep accurate records of sterilization.
All technicians will be scheduled on a rotating basis in order to provide adequate departmental coverage.
All technicians will be on call to be on “standby” on a rotating schedule for call during the hours the department is not fully staffed including weekends and holidays.
Ability to communicate both written and verbal with co-workers.
Must obtain CRCST certification within the first year of employment if not currently certified.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Stand and walk for long periods of time.
Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, bend, stretch and reach frequently.
Push/pull and lift up to 75 lbs. frequently.
