Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Sterilization and Lab Tech to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations through expertise in dental fabrication, laboratory procedures, and patient care assistance. Responsibilities
- Sterilization Responsibilities:
· Adheres to office sterilization and infection control standards for cleaning and sterilizing contaminated items or supplies.
· Ensures instruments and surgical trays are clean, sterile, assembled, and ready prior to procedures.
· Ensures the availability of adequate levels of sterile instruments and supplies meet the demands of the surgery schedule.
· Checks sterile items for substitution needs by replacing damaged, expired, or missing instruments
· Maintains inventory by rotating, sorting, wrapping, packaging, and appropriately labeling instruments and supplies.
· Inserts sterilization indicators inside all packages and report any lost instruments to appropriate staff.
- Assisting Responsibilities:
· Assists Doctor, Hygienists and Dental Assistants by ensuring operatories are clean and ready for next procedures.
· Open daily chart notes.
· Set up upcoming procedures.
· Assist with bringing patients back: opening chart, pulling up xrays, taking blood pressure and possibly getting subjective report from patient.
· Take X-rays when needed.
· Take impressions or scan for retainers, night guards, bleach trays, diagnostic casts, surgical stents, custom trays, and temporary suck downs.
· Setting up all consults: getting laptop ready and pull up CT and chart on big tv.
- Supplies: Stocking & Ordering:
· Stocking Doctor and Hygienist’s operatories daily and weekly.
· Checking inventory weekly and pulling tags.
· Ordering all supplies and equipment.
· Putting away all incoming supplies.
· Contacting appropriate companies for help when equipment issues arise.
· Monitors autoclaves for proper temperatures and ensures repair orders are reported to supervisors or representatives responsible for escalated maintenance.
· Tracking and ensure all weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance logs are filled out.
· Lab Tracking
· Packaging cases that need to be sent out and send out.
· Box up models when a case is completed
· Organization of the lab, ensuring that it is clean.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
