Job Overview

Twenty Year highly respected Cosmetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon seeks a full time Certified First Assistant (CFA) or Experienced Physician's Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, particularly in surgical assistance, cosmetic surgery and outpatient-based patient care. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative support, assisting in complex surgical procedures, and contributing to high standards of patient safety and care quality within a fast-paced surgical center environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficiency in medical procedures, EMR systems, and critical care protocols, ensuring optimal outcomes for diverse patient populations.

Duties

Assist surgeons during operative procedures by providing hands-on support, including suturing, tissue handling, and maintaining sterile technique.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs monitoring and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans.
Support preoperative preparations and postoperative discharge planning to facilitate smooth patient transitions through various stages of care.
Manage medical records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems, documenting procedures, patient responses, and clinical observations meticulously.
Perform procedural skills including suturing, incision management, and assisting with perioperative care in the operating room (OR) as well as works alongside surgeon to provide critical support before, during, and after cosmetic procedures.
Assist with tissue manipulation, suturing, and controlling bleeding.
Demonstrate expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support complex surgical and medical interventions effectively.
Proven experience as a Physician's Assistant or Certified First Assistant within a medical office or surgical center setting is required.
Extensive perioperative experience across surgical specialties such as general surgery, orthopedics, cosmetic or plastic surgery is highly desired.
Strong background in hospital medicine with familiarity using EMR systems like Epic or similar platforms for documentation and order entry.
Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare safety standards essential for minimizing infection risks.
Ability to perform advanced procedures such as suturing with precision while maintaining compliance with hospital policies on patient care and safety standards.
Excellent analysis skills coupled with a solid understanding of medical records management to ensure accurate documentation of all clinical activities.
