Full Job Description

ABOUT SOLÉ SHADES

Solé Shades is a female-owned luxury custom window coverings company based in Fountain Valley, CA. We design and craft custom drapery, roman shades, and roller shades using premium European textiles for high-end residential, design-trade, and hospitality clients. We are a Lutron Platinum Dealer, our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, and we take pride in a detail-driven, craftsmanship-first culture.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a detail-oriented, hardworking Seamstress to join our workroom team. Window covering experience is required with Use of needle and thread, single needle, overlock and blind stitch.

If you feel you are capable of the responsibilities and meet the qualifications below, we would love to hear from you.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Plan and lay out fabric — review work orders, inspect goods for flaws, and plan cuts to make the most efficient use of material
Measure and cut — measure and cut fabric and lining to spec, accounting for hems, returns, and pattern placement
Sew — sewing rings to back of shades, using machines listed above as needed.
Finish and prep for install — iron, steam, fold, and package completed curtains for delivery and installation
Quality check — inspect your own work against the work order before it leaves the workroom
Keep a clean station — maintain an organized, safe work area and care for your machine

QUALIFICATIONS

Well-versed on industrial sewing machines
Able to pass a sample sewing test as part of the interview process
Detail-oriented and quality-focused
Able to effectively read and receive work instructions in English
Comfortable working with a tape measure and reading dimensions accurately
Supportive, dependable team member with reliable attendance
Prior drapery, upholstery, or soft-goods workroom experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
Ability to bend, stretch, twist, reach, and lift
Comfortable working in a warehouse and workroom environment

$18-25 per hour, depending on WINDOW COVERING experience
