Position Summary
Abrazar is seeking an energetic, dependable, and youth-centered P.R.I.D.E. Middle School Site Lead to support the after-school program at Stacey Middle School. Working closely with the Site Director, the Site Lead helps coordinate daily program operations, supports and guides program staff, supervises students and transitions, and leads educational and enrichment activities focused on academic assistance, arts, sports, recreation, and positive youth development. The Site Lead serves as a key member of the site leadership team and is expected to model professionalism, help maintain a safe and positive program culture, support implementation of PBIS and other positive behavior strategies, assist with attendance and program documentation, and serve as a secondary liaison with school staff and administrators. This position is well suited for an experienced youth-development professional who is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility while remaining actively involved with students and daily programming.
Compensation and Benefits
- $21.00-$22.00/hour: Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications with at least two years of relevant youth-services, after-school, recreation, education, or comparable experience and demonstrated readiness to support site leadership responsibilities.
- $22.01-$23.00/hour: Candidates with demonstrated experience leading groups of middle-school or schoolage youth, supporting staff or program operations, implementing enrichment activities, managing student behavior, and maintaining attendance or program documentation.
- $23.01-$24.00/hour: Candidates with advanced directly relevant experience in middle-school or Expanded Learning programs; team-lead, supervisory, or program-coordination experience; strong knowledge of PBIS, school partnerships, attendance/compliance requirements, or other highly relevant preferred qualifications.

Essential Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Staff Support
- Assist the Site Director with daily management and operation of the P.R.I.D.E. program at Stacey Middle School.
- Serve as a dependable site leader and provide direction, support, and positive role modeling to program staff and students.
- Assist the Site Director with staff supervision, activity assignments, transitions, preparation, and daily followthrough.
- Help train, coach, and motivate staff and reinforce expectations for professionalism, student supervision, program quality, and teamwork.
- Help address routine staff or program concerns and promptly elevate significant issues to the Site Director.
- Participate in required leadership meetings, site-team meetings, school meetings, professional development, and program trainings.
- Follow and reinforce Abrazar employee policies, program procedures, school-site requirements, and professional conduct expectations.
Middle School Program Delivery and Youth Engagement
- Assist the Site Director in planning and implementing project-based educational, social, athletic, prevention, recreational, and enrichment activities that are engaging and appropriate for middle school students.
- Lead clubs, curriculum activities, special events, academic-support activities, recreation, sports, and other small- and large-group programming.
- Promote student voice, leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and positive decision-making. Support homework assistance and academic engagement and help connect students with appropriate support when concerns arise.
- Help evaluate activities and program components to ensure they meet program objectives and respond to student needs and interests. Model a positive, respectful, culturally responsive, and youth-centered approach in all interactions.
Student Safety, Behavior, and Supervision
- Supervise students during activities, meals, transitions, arrival, dismissal, and other program components and help ensure their safety at all times.
- Implement and reinforce PBIS and other positive behavior strategies to support student growth, accountability, and respectful conduct.
- Assist the Site Director in responding to student behavior concerns, conflicts, and other program challenges. Facilitate sign-out procedures and enforce applicable Early Release Policy requirements.
- Follow required sign-in, sign-out, authorized-release, and student-supervision procedures.
- Ensure applicable rules and procedures are followed during snack and meal service.
- Respond appropriately to safety concerns, injuries, emergencies, or other incidents and immediately notify program leadership as required.
Attendance, Documentation, and Compliance
- Assist the Site Director with attendance records, activity documentation, reports, and other required program records.
- Help ensure the site follows Abrazar, Westminster School District, school-site, and ASES/Expanded Learning policies and requirements.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional documentation and protect confidential student and family information.
- Identify missing documentation, attendance concerns, safety issues, or other compliance needs and promptly bring them to the Site Director's attention.
- Support organized, consistent program operations and help maintain program materials and records.
School, Family, and Community Relationships
- Serve as a secondary liaison to Stacey Middle School staff and administrators under the direction of the Site Director.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with students, parents and guardians, teachers, school personnel, coworkers, and community partners.
- Support family communication regarding program activities, student participation, behavior, homework, and other appropriate updates.
- Represent Abrazar and the P.R.I.D.E. Program positively in all school and community interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of 48 college units or successful completion of the Westminster School District Paraeducator Exam, or another qualifying district requirement.
- At least two years of relevant experience working with youth in an after-school, educational, recreation, youth-development, childcare, or comparable setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small- and large-group activities and maintain positive, appropriate relationships with middle-school-age youth. Ability to support, coach, motivate, and provide day-to-day direction to other staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong reliability, organization, professionalism, judgment, and follow-through.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, school personnel, coworkers, and community partners.
- Ability to work the required Stacey Middle School schedule and participate in required meetings, trainings, and special events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or college coursework in Education, Child Development, Human Services, Recreation, Social Work, or a related field.
- Direct experience in a middle-school after-school or Expanded Learning program.
- Team-lead, supervisory, program-coordination, or comparable leadership experience.
- Experience with California ASES, ELO-P, or other publicly funded Expanded Learning programs.
- Experience implementing PBIS, restorative practices, social-emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, or comparable positive youth-development approaches.
- Experience supporting attendance, program documentation, school-site compliance, or grant reporting.
- Experience working within Westminster School District or another public-school district.
- Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with direct, hands-on involvement in student programming.
- Understanding of the developmental needs, interests, and behaviors of middle school students.
- Ability to supervise groups, maintain appropriate boundaries, and create a safe, structured, and engaging environment.

Mandatory Employment Requirements
- Verification of authorization to work in the United States.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness and ability to obtain it.
- Successful completion of tuberculosis screening, background screening, and drug screening as conditions of hire.
- Completion of all required Abrazar, Westminster School District, and program training.
Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands
The employee must be able to work effectively in school classrooms, offices, playgrounds, athletic areas, and other indoor and outdoor program environments; sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; move quickly when necessary to respond to student or safety situations; use a computer and standard office equipment; communicate clearly with students, staff, families, and school personnel; read and prepare program records; and exercise appropriate judgment. The position involves walking on uneven surfaces; bending, reaching, stooping, repetitive hand and arm movement; outdoor activities and weather exposure; and occasional lifting or moving of program equipment and supplies weighing up to approximately 30 pounds.
