Commercial HVAC Foreman / Lead InstallerAbout Comfortzone
Comfortzone Heating and Cooling is an established New York–based mechanical contractor with a proven track record of delivering high-quality commercial HVAC projects. We're expanding into the Nashville market and are looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Foreman to lead projects from start to finish.
This is a unique opportunity to become one of the founding leaders of our Tennessee operation. You'll have the autonomy to run projects your way, build your own crew, and play a key role in growing our Nashville division.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Foreman who can take complete ownership of commercial HVAC installation projects.
This is not a working lead position where you simply oversee a few installers. We're looking for someone who can manage the entire sheet metal and HVAC scope—from project kickoff through final punch list—while still being willing to jump in and work alongside the crew whenever needed.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading commercial HVAC installations, coordinating with general contractors and other trades, managing manpower, scheduling work, maintaining quality, and keeping projects on schedule and profitable.
If you've successfully run commercial HVAC projects from start to finish and take pride in delivering clean, organized, high-quality work, we'd like to speak with you.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial HVAC installation projects from mobilization through completion.
- Supervise and lead sheet metal mechanics and installers on multiple phases of construction.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals.
- Plan daily and weekly work schedules to maintain project timelines.
- Coordinate directly with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, engineers, and other trades.
- Assign work, monitor productivity, and maintain labor efficiency.
- Perform layout and oversee installation of commercial ductwork systems.
- Install rooftop units (RTUs), VAV boxes, exhaust fans, ductwork, equipment supports, and associated HVAC systems.
- Perform hands-on installation work as needed to support the crew and keep projects moving.
- Identify and resolve field conflicts before they become schedule issues.
- Order materials, track deliveries, and maintain jobsite inventory.
- Complete punch lists and ensure projects are delivered to company quality standards.
- Maintain OSHA compliance and enforce all jobsite safety requirements.
- Train and mentor mechanics and apprentices.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience.
- 3+ years leading commercial HVAC crews or serving as a foreman.
- Demonstrated experience running commercial HVAC projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of commercial ductwork installation and fabrication.
- Experience coordinating with general contractors and multiple construction trades.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings without supervision.
- Strong understanding of SMACNA standards and commercial HVAC installation practices.
- Experience planning manpower and sequencing work to meet project schedules.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to solve field problems independently.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
