Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining surface mount assembly equipment to produce high-quality electronic circuit boards. Your expertise in electronics assembly, electrical schematic reading, and soldering will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge electro-mechanical components and contribute to the creation of innovative electronic products. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for precision manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate SMT machinery, including pick-and-place machines, ensuring adherence to blueprint specifications and schematics
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately assemble PCB (Printed Circuit Board) components
Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters, and other measurement devices to perform precise electrical wiring and mechanical assembly tasks
Solder surface mount components onto PCBs following IPC 610 standards for quality and reliability
Build electrical panels and wire electro-mechanical components according to detailed schematics and wiring diagrams
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues by analyzing electrical and mechanical assembly problems using engineering troubleshooting techniques
Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols during machining, soldering, and assembly processes

Experience

Proven experience working with PCB assembly, surface mount technology (SMT), and electrical wiring in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of electrical schematic reading, interpretation of blueprints, and following blueprint specifications
Skilled in soldering techniques specific to surface mount components in accordance with IPC 610 standards
Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical panel building, and electro-mechanical component integration is preferred
Mechanical knowledge related to machining, use of calipers, power tools, and mechanical assembly practices is highly desirable
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues efficiently using multimeters (ohmmeters) and other diagnostic tools
Prior experience in electronics assembly or related fields involving electrical schematic reading and wiring is advantageous
