About Us:
Belknap House is a small, non-profit organization that provides homeless families in Belknap County with safe shelter. We have two facilities that together can house up to 9 families. We empower families to become self-sufficient and independent by providing them with opportunities for education and access to community resources. We are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
Position Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization's operations, including planning, financial management, staff leadership, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in senior leadership roles, with a focus on driving organizational growth and success. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to manage complex projects, and a strategic mindset. The Executive Director will play a critical role in shaping the future of the organization and ensuring its continued success. Incentive bonuses are available for exceeding annual goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with current donors and sponsors. Expand donor base.
- Grants: Research Grants and apply for all that fits our mission. Compile the data needed for each grant and submit grant applications to meet grant application deadlines. Track the status of each and update the board of directors monthly.
- Manage public relations and outreach.
- Secure financial commitments from individuals, corporations, and foundations to ensure the organization has sufficient financial resources.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure efficient and effective functioning of the organization
- Lead and manage a team of volunteers and 9 employees, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
- Collaborate with board members and stakeholders to drive organizational growth and success
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, donors, and community leaders
- Monitor financial performance and ensure the organization operates within budgetary guidelines
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to increase efficiency
- Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulations to ensure compliance

- Proven experience in raising more than $400K annually in revenue via grants, donations, and fundraisers.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent decision-making abilities
- Proven experience in providing program services and project management for low-income families
- Ability to negotiate effectively and build strong partnerships
- Multiple years of experience working for a non-profit providing social services
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
