The Oasis League Manager

Volleyball of the Rockies is a volleyball production company with various year-round programming options including:
Outdoor Grass Leagues and Tournaments
Indoor Hard-Court Leagues and Tournaments
The Island Indoor Beach Leagues and Tournaments
The Oasis Indoor Beach Leagues and Tournaments
SOB Beach Volleyball Vacations
“Major” Mountain Tournaments

The Oasis is an indoor/outdoor beach volleyball facility with a restaurant and bar. There are 7 indoor courts and 3 outdoor courts hosting 1500 participants per week. The Oasis is open year-round regardless of the temperature outside, it's always warm inside! The Oasis league manager oversees running volleyball leagues, court rentals and tournaments. This responsibility includes 400 teams a week of programming and 25+ tournaments a year. Some of the major job responsibilities are:

Primary Job Duties Include

The primary function of this role is to oversee all aspects of Oasis league programming. Including but not limited to – year-round Oasis sand leagues, seasonal outdoor leagues and associated tournaments.

o Overseeing all aspects of league operations

Marketing/Registration/Payment/Scheduling/Communication/Trouble Shooting/General Programming Improvements/Database management/All aspects of day-to-day operations.

o Summer league management (seasonal outdoor leagues in addition to the regular, indoor year-round leagues)

o Managing part time staff (seasonal/year-round/referees)

Hiring/Training/Scheduling/Development/Payroll

o Overseeing weekly court rentals

Coordinating with coaches/managing online scheduling system/assisting players booking courts/invoicing

o Maintaining facility and courts

Regular odd cleaning/maintenance to help ensure the Island operates smoothly.

o Managing inventory and equipment

In tandem with other VOTR/Oasis staff, ensure sufficient merchandise on hand for tournament prizes and enough equipment on hand to replace old/broken parts (nets, lines etc.) around the facility, ordering new merch/equipment when necessary.

Primary job duties represent approximately 80% of overall expectations.

Secondary Job Duties Include

o Support for all additional league/tournament programming* not listed in primary duties.

Including administrative and on-site support

o General administrative tasks within a shared office setting

o Special projects

Additional responsibilities will include working on major tournaments, league tournaments and winter beach tournaments. Daily league related office activities will include data entry, registration processing, scheduling, payment processing, results and communication with teams.

A typical week would likely include 1 Saturday tournament shift and 4 office shifts usually late morning into the first few rounds of league. Summertime varies depending on the outdoor schedule.

Job Requirements include, but are not limited to the following:

· Able to work weekends/holidays/night shifts

· Available to travel out of town

Starting Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

*This position will be expected to be on-site for tournaments outside of the Denver area including major mountain tournaments (Vail, Steamboat, Snowmass, Breckenridge, Fraser) and possible Mexico trips (Ixtapa, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo). As well as director for tournaments at both Island/Oasis facilities.

There is a significant physical component in this position and candidates should be able to lift and carry 60-100 lbs of equipment. In the summer, we regularly carry up to 72 lbs of nets in the park. At tournaments we set and strike equipment including stereos, speakers, tents, nets, ice chests, and crates of prizes. On our Volleyball Vacations, we erect 10-25 nets on a beach in tropical heat.

Our preferred candidate will have the following qualification:
1) Bachelor’s degree in sports/events/recreation/tourism management
2) 1-2 years’ experience in sports/recreation or events setting preferred
4) 1+ years operations and logistics preferred
5) Knowledge in data entry/excel/database management

The ideal start date is July 15th or sooner. This will be a salaried position with a salary range of $45,000-$55,000 annually. Salaried VOTR staff receive 2 paid weeks of vacation annually and all major holidays. Additionally, there are 4-6 “flex” vacation days annually for worked major tournaments and Mexico trips. As a relatively small company it is cost-prohibitive to provide full medical insurance to our employees, however we do offer supplementary insurance through AFLAC. We also offer a company sponsored 401k plan and with match after 6 months. Full compensation includes salary plus bonuses earned through working major events. This job is not eligible for full-time remote work and is based in Denver.

Oasis (Office) Duties: Some days may include office work. This will include computing results/standings, preparing schedules, data entry, preparing league/tournament equipment, and projects. Special projects at The Oasis may include tasks such as assisting in the setup of special events (non-volleyball), and maintaining equipment used for leagues, tournaments, and our indoor beach volleyball facilities.

Maintenance: Year-round support of building, vehicle, and court maintenance. Court and equipment upkeep/replacement. This includes indoor and outdoor courts. Vehicle upkeep and cleanliness.
