Job Summary
Teledyne FLIR is seeking an experienced Accounting & Financial Analyst to support a portfolio of defense programs within the Detection business unit. This highly visible role serves as a key financial partner to program managers, engineering teams, and business leadership by providing budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cost analysis, reporting, and project performance insights.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and other month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Support internal and external audits and ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, U.S. GAAP, and government contract requirements.
Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses to support business objectives and strategic decision-making.
Monitor program budgets, actuals, forecasts, and funding utilization across contract and Internal Research & Development (IRAD) portfolios.
Analyze labor, material, and project costs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for business leaders.
Support annual operating plan (AOP), forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
Partner with program managers, engineering teams, and business leaders to provide financial analysis and decision support.
Collaborate with accounting, operations, contracts, and other stakeholders to support program execution, reporting, and process improvements.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, FP&A, program finance, project finance, cost accounting, project accounting, or related finance roles.
Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, scenario analysis, and variance analysis.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
