Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) care to join our healthcare team. The RN - Med Surg will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients across a variety of medical conditions, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate treatment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient-centered care and clinical excellence are prioritized.

Job Title: RN-Med Surg
Schedule: Day (3x12 Hours) 06:30 - 19:30
Duration: 13 weeks (Possible Extension)
Location: Williamsport, IN
Start Date: ASAP

Salary:
Travel Pay: $2128/week for 36 hours
Travel Bonus: $300 (one-time)

Local Pay Rate: $43

Duties

Provide direct patient care by performing thorough assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physical examinations to evaluate patient needs and condition changes.
Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, specimen collection, and imaging procedures including CT scans and sonography.
Manage complex medical cases involving acute pain management, wound suturing, catheterization, and ventilator support when necessary.
Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation of patient care activities, medication administration records (MAR), and medical records management.
Implement discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery at home or in long-term care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, case managers, and specialists in areas such as cardiology, infectious disease care, geriatrics, behavioral health, and trauma medicine.

Qualifications

Current RN licensure with active state registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
Minimum of two years’ experience in medical-surgical units or inpatient hospital environments; experience in ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings highly desirable.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes.
Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, and individuals with disabilities.
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration, and diagnostic evaluation procedures.
Excellent critical thinking skills combined with the ability to perform under pressure during emergency response situations or acute care scenarios.
Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing techniques to ensure patient safety at all times.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across various healthcare settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics, home care services, and long-term care facilities.
Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance while managing sensitive patient information effectively.
