Full Job Description

The Role

In this management position, you will work alongside organizational leadership in a myriad of functions, with focuses on recruitment and retention, employee well-being, productivity, risk management, compliance, and future growth.

At times, you will work in an advisory capacity, providing dedicated support to employees who execute HR functions in each of our organizations; guiding and mentoring them on best practices, existing policies, and solutions to issues between team members.

And at other times, you will work in a specialist capacity, focused on the development of policies or processes in line with human resources best practices, in a manner that meets the current and future needs of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

· Provides support and guidance to employees performing HR functions, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.

· Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with our organizations’ general managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.

· Provides oversight and recommendations on payroll, benefits, and pension plans.

· Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.

· Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains an understanding of federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations as they apply to each company and recommend best practices; reviews and develops policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Ensures confidential HR information is protected.

· Helps to promote the health and safety program within the companies.

· Identifies and reports on funding options for new hires available through Government and Industry.

· Ensures a positive image and professional working relationship.

· Other duties as required within scope of position.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Well-developed problem solving and conflict resolution skills.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Proficient use of MS Office.

· Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information.

· Well-developed critical thinking skills and solutions-focused mentality.

· Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

· Detail oriented with strong analytical, time management and organizational skills.

Required Qualifications and Experience

· Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or five years of relevant work experience.

Work Conditions

· This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
