Full Job Description

The/Studio — Salon & Blow Dry Bar is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable receptionist to join our front desk team in Walnut Creek.

Our front desk is central to the client experience. We are looking for someone who is welcoming, attentive, and confident managing the details that keep a busy salon running smoothly. The right person will enjoy working with people, take pride in creating a polished environment, and contribute to the positive and supportive culture of our team.

Schedule

This is a part-time position of approximately 28 hours per week with a consistent schedule:

Tuesday: 1:30 PM–7:00 PM
Wednesday: 1:30 PM–7:00 PM
Thursday: 1:30 PM–7:00 PM
Friday: 1:30 PM–7:00 PM
Saturday: 1:30 PM–7:00 PM

Applicants must be available for the full schedule listed above.

Responsibilities

Welcome clients and provide a high-quality experience from arrival through checkout
Answer phone calls and assist clients with questions
Schedule and manage appointments accurately using salon booking software
Check clients in and out and process payments
Become familiar with our services, products, and salon policies
Recommend and sell professional haircare products
Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the front desk and salon
Receive, organize, and restock retail inventory
Communicate clearly with stylists and other team members
Handle client questions or concerns with patience, professionalism, and care
Support the daily flow and organization of the salon

The ability to multitask and stay composed in a busy environment
Dependability and consistent punctuality
An interest in beauty, haircare, retail, and client service
Comfort learning about and recommending professional products
Previous salon, hospitality, customer service, or retail experience is preferred, but not required

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay: $18–$20 per hour, based on experience
Commission on retail sales
