Full Job Description

Overview:

UCI Health is one of California’s largest academic health systems and the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. As Orange County’s only academic health systems, UCI Health is home to the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center based in the county, the region’s only American College of Surgeons-verified Level I adult and Level II pediatric trauma center, American College of Emergency Physicians Gold Level 1 Geriatric Emergency Department and a nationally recognized regional burn center verified by the American Burn Association. Powered by UC Irvine, UCI Health serves 5.6 million people across Orange County, western Riverside County and southeast Los Angeles County through excellence in patient care, research and medical education.

Responsibilities:

This position is eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus; 50% to be paid on first pay period following hire date and the remaining 50% to be paid on the first pay period following the completion of six months of employment.

Prior Employment Restriction: All potential recipients cannot have been employed within the UC System for the past 12 months in order to qualify for the hiring bonus.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of the Director of Diagnostic Imaging, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist is directly responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient nuclear medicine department using radioactive isotopes for enhanced diagnostic imaging. He/she is responsible for performing all nuclear medicine procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Registered and licensed by the American Registry of Nuclear Medicine Technology and the State of California.
CPR Certification Required.

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years progressively more responsible experience nuclear medicine related program/job.
PET experience
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
