Full Job Description

This is not another “keep the kitchen running” chef job.

An established Orange County hotspot is ready for a major culinary reset, and we’re looking for a creative, hands-on Chef who wants to help build the next chapter. The restaurant is evolving toward a latin leaning menu with tapas-style plating, and we want someone who is excited to get in the kitchen and make it happen.

We’re looking for a chef who understands Latin cuisine, small plates, and big flavor, but who isn’t boxed into one particular style. This is an opportunity to create innovative, approachable food using exceptional seasonal products, thoughtful presentations, and a menu that takes guests on a real culinary journey.

And this is absolutely a collaborative opportunity. “My food, my way” isn’t the approach here. You’ll work directly with ownership to develop the vision, test ideas, make adjustments, and ultimately create something that everyone is proud of. You need to be comfortable with change, willing to pivot, and excited by the creative process. Once you get what ownership wants and they get what you do, this will be much less restrictive. Keep it seasonal, fresh and innovative is the key.

You’ll also need to be in the kitchen—not just in the office. We expect our Chef to touch every plate, work the line with the cooks during service, teach and develop the team, and set the standard for quality and consistency. You’ll lead from the front and have a direct impact on both the food and the culture of the kitchen.

Strong knowledge of menu development, costing, food and labor controls, and kitchen financials is essential. We’re looking for a leader with high standards who knows how to build a team, communicate with both FOH and BOH, and understands that great food and great hospitality go hand in hand. Pastry experience is a plus, but not required.

You’ll have the time and support to develop the menu, build a strong crew, and continuously refine the experience rather than constantly chasing the next service.

Compensation & Benefits

Up to $100,000 base salary, based on experience

4–5 night operating schedule depending on season
