Full Job Description

Role Description

This is a full-time or part-time, on-site role for an Ophthalmic Technician located in Newport Beach, CA. Travel to satellite clinics will be required - Orange, Whittier, West Covina, Laguna Woods. The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for conducting patient assessments and tests, assisting doctors during eye exams, administering treatments as directed, and maintaining equipment. They will also perform diagnostic tests including fundus photography and assist with scribing for accurate medical records.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma; some college preferred.

2. Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer focus.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

3. Strong organization with attention to detail.

4. Ability to work as a team member.

5. Demonstrated computer literacy.

6. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply training.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Communicating to patients, including informing patients about tests and obtaining patient history.

2. Performing accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.

3. Performing duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe.

4. Assisting physicians as needed.

5. Performing patient triage.

6. Maintaining instruments.

7. Performing administrative duties including confirming appointments and maintaining cleanliness.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
