Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Insurance Billing Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage the billing processes for our behavioral health services, ensuring accurate coding, timely claims submission, and effective follow-up on outstanding balances. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycle management and support our mission to deliver exceptional care.

Duties

Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes.
Prepare and submit insurance claims accurately through EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems.
Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements prior to billing.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities, appeals, and collections related to medical billing and medical collections.
Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure all documentation aligns with billing requirements and medical terminology standards.
Stay current with updates in medical coding regulations and insurance policies affecting billing procedures.

Qualifications

Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology.
Familiarity with EMR systems, EHR systems, and medical records management.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review complex documentation accurately.
Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance providers, patients, and team members.
