About the Role:

The Compounding Pharmacist Intern will play a critical role in supporting the preparation and formulation of customized medications tailored to individual patient needs. This position involves working closely under the supervision of licensed pharmacists to ensure the accuracy, safety, and quality of compounded pharmaceutical products. The intern will gain hands-on experience in measuring, mixing, and packaging medications while adhering to strict regulatory and safety standards. Additionally, the role requires maintaining detailed documentation and inventory management to support efficient pharmacy operations. Ultimately, this internship provides a comprehensive learning environment to develop expertise in pharmaceutical compounding and patient-centered care.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program or related pharmaceutical sciences degree.
Basic understanding of pharmaceutical compounding principles and practices.
Familiarity with standard safety protocols and regulatory guidelines in pharmacy practice.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience or coursework in pharmaceutical compounding or laboratory techniques.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and inventory management software.
Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and compounding of customized medications according to prescriptions and established protocols.
Measure, mix, and package pharmaceutical ingredients accurately while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the compounding workspace and equipment to ensure a sterile environment.
Document all compounding activities meticulously, including batch records and inventory usage.
Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to understand patient-specific medication requirements and provide support as needed.
