We're currently seeking a detail-oriented and self-driven Payroll/Human Resources Assistant to support our operations in Lake City, FL

About the Role: As a Payroll & HR Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing while supporting key HR functions. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, organization, and a strong sense of accountability and urgency.

Payroll Responsibilities

Process weekly payroll by compiling, calculating, and entering data accurately

Maintain payroll records, including deductions, benefits, and tax information

Track leave, non-taxable wages, and earnings records

Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed

Issue paychecks and resolve discrepancies
Human Resources Support

Maintain and update employee records (personal data, benefits, compensation)

Support recruiting and onboarding activities
-
Ensure new hire paperwork is complete and compliant

Track PTO and vacation accruals

Assist with benefits administration, including open enrollment

Manage workers' compensation records and reporting

Serve as a resource for employee HR-related questions
What We're Looking For

2-3 years of payroll and/or HR experience
-
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and functions required)

Familiarity with payroll systems (UKG/UltiPro preferred)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Able to work independently and have an excellent work ethic

Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism

Experience working in a fast-paced or manufacturing environment is a plus

Ability to interact with all levels of personnel - bilingual is a plus

Thrives on assisting and teaching employees
