Full Job Description

Job Overview:

Lead the strategy, development, and governance of the firm's insurance offerings (life, disability income, long-term care, annuities, variable products as applicable), ensuring profitability, regulatory compliance, and superior client and advisor experiences. Build and mentor an Insurance Servicing Specialist in underwriting, product development, pricing, and policy administration; partner with advisors to deliver innovative, compliant, and competitive insurance solutions to policyowners.

5 days a week in office.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and development of Insurance team
Oversight of Underwriting process and Product Governance
Regulatory Compliance and Filings
Advisor Collaboration
Client-facing meetings to assist in closing business
Policy owner servicing and general insurance-related customer service
Partnership and Vendor Management
Operational Excellence and Data Analytics
Risk Management and Internal Controls
Daily task management and delegation with adherence to deadlines
Maintain organized, detail-focused department

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, business, or related field. Advanced degree or professional designations (CLU, CFP, CFA, ASA/FSA, CPCU) preferred.
Experience: 5+ years in life insurance, disability, annuities, or related financial services; experience with a large mutual insurance company in an insurance-related role preferred.
Technical Knowledge:Deep understanding of life insurance products, riders, disability income insurance, long-term care, annuities, and related regulatory considerations
Experience with policy illustrations and risk classification
Knowledge of state insurance laws, NAIC guidelines, and regulatory filing processes
Proficiency with policy administration systems, underwriting tools, and data analytics (SQL, Excel, BI tools) is a plus
Leadership and Collaboration:Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and partner effectively across all areas of a team
Strong strategic thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
Communication:Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex concepts clearly to executives, fiduciaries, field leadership and clients
Customer and Advisor Focus:Demonstrated commitment to client needs and advisor success, balancing profitability with policyowner value

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a large mutual insurer or a similar platform with a strong emphasis on policyowner value and field collaboration
Prior supervisory experience in a regulatory environment
