PASTRY BAKER
Simple Bakery and Market | Part of Simple Food Group

ABOUT THE ROLE

Simple Bakery and Market is seeking a Pastry Baker to join our production team. In this role, you'll craft exceptional pastries that reflect our commitment to quality, locally-sourced ingredients, and outstanding hospitality. You'll work closely with our Pastry Lead and the broader bakery team to deliver consistent, beautiful products that delight our guests daily.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Prepare high-quality pastries, laminates, baked goods, and desserts following established recipes and standards
Maintain consistency in product quality, presentation, and portion control
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and Work Clean protocols
Help maintain organization and cleanliness of pastry production areas
Properly handle, rotate, and store ingredients following inventory systems
Communicate clearly with the Pastry Lead and team members about production needs, inventory levels, and any quality concerns
Support your teammates—pitch in where needed and contribute to a collaborative, positive work environment
Participate in prep work, opening/closing procedures, and other tasks as assigned
Take ownership of your station and the quality of everything you produce

Skilled in pastry fundamentals: You have solid baking and pastry techniques and can execute recipes consistently

Physically capable: Comfortable standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and navigating stairs

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Previous pastry or baking experience (professional bakery experience preferred)
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to follow systems and take initiative
Positive attitude and professional demeanor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Comfortable navigating stairs and transporting materials
Able to stand for 6+ hours per shift
