Long-standing Lakeland Land Survey company seeking an AutoCAD Draftsperson for Boundary, Topographical, ALTA, Site Plans, Right of Way Control maps, etc..
Job description
· Prepare surveys, legal descriptions and sketches from field data collected by our Survey Crew and utilizing Title Opinions & Legal Descriptions.
· Maps and drawings include, but are not limited to: Boundary, Topographical & ALTA surveys, Wetland Flag Locations, Route surveys, Right-of-way Control maps, Site plans & base maps, real estate exhibits & As-builts.
· Incorporate conventional optical data, static GPS data and RTK GPS data into projects
· Prepare pre-calculations and assemble pertinent reference data for field crews to take into the field.
· Generate quantities of various items located.
· Make adjustments to field calculations as necessary.
· Routinely perform coordination of geometry calculations such as: intersections, curves, inverses, and area calculations.
· Review field notes and check reductions and calculations made by others.
· Conduct quality control checks on compilation and performs QA/QC on deliverable products.
· Make vertical control surveys for aerial surveys and determine elevations for various surfaces.
· Research field survey data, vertical control, certified corner records, geodetic controls points, appraisal maps and other sources to ensure survey work is compatible with adjacent properties and/or previous surveys.
· Establish control for alignment and benchmarks by making required line and elevation ties to existing centerlines and U.S.G.S. benchmarks.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in surveying and mapping preferred; 2+years CAD drafting using AutoCAD 2018/2020, Civil 3D or similar computer aided drafting software.
· Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalency diploma. (required)
· Graduate of a two 2 year program in computer aided drafting and design techniques from an accredited college or technical school is preferred but not necessary
· Proficient with latest version of AutoCAD and other surveying software.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Earth, GIS and GPS.
· Extensive knowledge of survey and mapping principles, practices, standards, procedures and project management are preferred.
· Experience with Trimble data collection & GPS receivers.
· Ability to perform complex mathematical computations.
· Considerable knowledge of county, state and local survey laws, ordinances and regulations.
· Considerable knowledge of principles and practices for photogrammetric mapping, LiDAR and other remote sensing.
· Considerable knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering plans.
· Skilled in identifying discrepancies between drawings and specifications.
· Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
· Ability to solve advanced mathematical problems.
· Ability to read and interpret detailed surveying drawings, legal descriptions, deeds, construction plans and abstracts.
· Research recorded documents to verify information pertaining to a property and solve any discrepancies found.
