Before & After School Group Leaders / Site Managers
Make a Difference in a Child’s Day - Part-Time Positions Available

Now Hiring in: Lakeland, Bartow, Winter Haven, Highland City, Auburndale, Lake Alfred, Davenport, and Mulberry

Pay: $15.00–$21.00 per hour. Based on your DCF transcript, credentials, experience, and previous licensed childcare employment.

No experience? We will help you! We’ve been partnering with Polk County Schools for over 30 years, providing quality before- and after-school programs that families trust.

Available Schedules

School Year

Morning Shift: 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Afternoon Shift: 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Early Release Days (about once per month): Afternoon staff begin at 11:00 a.m.

Site Managers are preferred to work both morning and afternoon shifts.

Summer Program (select locations) Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–6:00 p.m. (you may transfer to an open location for summer hours).

What You’ll Do

Lead games, crafts, STEM, sports, and enrichment activities
Create a safe, positive, and welcoming environment
Supervise children indoors and outdoors
Build relationships with children and families
Complete daily paperwork
Set up and clean up centers, toys, and equipment
Maintain a clean and organized space (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, etc.)
Be a positive role model every day

We’re Looking For People Who

Love working with children
Are dedicated, dependable, and punctual
Communicate well with parents, staff, and administrators
Can work every scheduled Monday through Friday
Have reliable transportation
Have a high school diploma or GED
Can stay active throughout the day (including lifting up to 50 lbs and getting on the floor with kids)

Minimum age:

Group Leader: 18+
Co-Site Manager / Site Manager: 21+ with required DCF credentials and experience

Important: All applicants must pass a Level 2 Background Screening. We will schedule and pre-pay for your fingerprinting if needed. Clearance is required before you can begin working (this can take a few days up to 30 days).

Preferred Qualifications

We especially encourage applicants who have:

Already completed DCF Facility hours
Previous licensed childcare experience
CDA, FCCPC, Director’s Credential, teaching degree, or education coursework
Spanish/English bilingual skills

Training & Support

No experience? We will help you.

First Aid & CPR (Adult/Child/Infant) required within 30 days — we schedule it. Cost is $40. After one year with us, the company pays for renewals.
DCF required training must be completed within the first 90 days. We provide free study books so you only pay small testing fees.
You will receive on-the-job training and a handbook upon hire.

About Us

Our company helped pioneer the partnership between private childcare and Polk County Schools in the early 1990s. We are licensed by DCF and contracted with the Polk County School Board and Early Learning Coalition of Polk County.

Required DCF Training Courses
Required DCF training is to be completed within your first 90 days of employment. We provide study materials, guidance, and on-the-job support. Most online coursework is free, with only minimal testing fees required by the state.

Child Care Facility Part I — 30 Hours (all free online):

RNRF – Child Care Facility Rules and Regulations (6 hours)
CAAN – Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (4 hours)
HSAN – Health, Safety and Nutrition (8 hours)
CGDR – Child Growth and Development (6 hours)
BOSR – Behavioral Observation and Screening (6 hours)

Child Care Facility Part II — 20 Hours (all free online) – Polk State Testing Required:

UDAP – Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices (5 hours)
SAPR – School-Age Appropriate Practices (5 hours)
SNP – Special Needs Appropriate Practices (10 hours)

School Readiness Requirements (all free online with online testing):

DEVSR – Child Development in the School Readiness Program (4 hours)
HNSR – Health and Nutrition in the School Readiness Program (4 hours)
SAFESR – Safety Practices in the School Readiness Program (5 hours)
SSSR – Safe Sleep Practices in Child Care (2 hours)
TRSSR – Transportation Safety in Child Care Programs (2 hours)

Early Literacy Requirement – 5 hours ($10 - online only):

ELC – Early Literacy for Children Age Birth Through Three
