Engine Shop Manual Machinist
Florida Diesel Power, Inc. is a custom diesel engine rebuilder specializing in Cummins engines, seeking an experienced manual machinist to join our team. This hands-on role involves precision machining of diesel engine components as well as engine disassembly and cleaning operations.
Responsibilities
Work varies between machining, engine disassembly and component cleaning depending on shop needs. You will machine diesel engine components to precise specifications, working independently while maintaining a safe work environment. This position involves manual machining only no CNC work. Diesel experience not required. We will train the right candidate on our specific processes, procedures, and specifications.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of manual machining experience
- Equipment Proficiency: Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, and surface grinder
- Precision: Ability to hold tight tolerances as needed
- Tools: Must provide your own measurement instruments (micrometers, calipers) and hand tools as needed
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Attributes: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Pre-Employment: Must pass drug screening
Schedule & Hours
Both full-time and part-time positions available, ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week depending on individual needs. We welcome energetic machinists looking for steady work as well as retired or semi-retired machinists seeking flexible hours. We're flexible and willing to accommodate the right person's schedule.
Compensation & Benefits
Up to $45/hour depending on experience. Benefits include paid vacation, paid holidays, uniforms, and workers' compensation insurance. Health and dental insurance is negotiable.
