Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist in the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission of charges, and effective follow-up on outstanding accounts. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles, improve cash flow, and support the delivery of quality patient care. Responsibilities

Prepare and submit medical claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
Review medical records to verify proper documentation supporting diagnoses and procedures.
Utilize medical coding skills including DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to assign accurate codes for billing purposes.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective communication with insurance companies and patients to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim statuses, and payment histories to ensure transparency and accountability.
Stay current with industry regulations, updates in medical terminology, coding standards, and payer policies to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to clarify billing discrepancies or documentation needs.

Requirements

Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology and records management.
Proficiency in EMR systems and EHR platforms for claim processing and data entry.
Solid knowledge of medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
Familiarity with insurance procedures, claim adjudication, and denial management.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex medical records accurately.
