Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist specializing in pediatric care for children aged 1 to 5 years old. In this vital role, you will assess, plan, and implement therapeutic interventions that promote developmental progress, enhance daily living skills, and support overall well-being. Your expertise will help young children overcome challenges related to neurodevelopmental disorders, disabilities, or other health conditions, empowering them to reach their full potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families through evidence-based practice and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive abilities, and functional independence in young children.
Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's unique needs, incorporating goals for improving activities of daily living (ADLs), fine and gross motor skills, and sensory integration.
Implement targeted occupational therapy programs that support neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD), developmental delays, or disabilities.
Assist children with ADLs including feeding, dressing, grooming, and toileting to foster independence and confidence.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals to ensure holistic care and optimal outcomes.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation within electronic health records (EHR), including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
Provide guidance and training to parents and caregivers on therapy techniques and strategies for reinforcing progress at home or in educational settings.

Requirements

Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist with certification in pediatric occupational therapy.
Proven experience working with children aged 1 to 5 years old in settings such as outpatient clinics, early intervention programs, schools, or home health services.
Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other disabilities.
Familiarity with implementing evidence-based occupational therapy practices and treatment plan development.
Ability to communicate effectively with young children, families, educators, and healthcare team members.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to pediatrics and clinical documentation standards.
Skilled in case management including discharge planning and coordinating services across various providers.
Acute care or inpatient experience is a plus; familiarity with post-acute care settings such as skilled nursing facilities or inpatient units is advantageous.
Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
