Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Community Manager to join a growing property management team in Lancaster, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader with experience in affordable housing and property operations to oversee all aspects of community management while making a positive impact on residents and the property.

About the Opportunity

Join a team committed to excellence in multifamily housing management. Specializing in both conventional and affordable housing, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service, operational excellence, and outstanding results for residents and ownership.

You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of a community, including leasing, resident relations, compliance, financial performance, and team leadership. If you're organized, customer-focused, and knowledgeable in affordable housing regulations, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations of the property, ensuring excellent service and efficient operations.
Lead and supervise the leasing team, including resident applications, screenings, move-ins, and move-outs.
Ensure compliance with Project-Based Section 8 regulations, including annual recertifications, tenant file maintenance, and waitlist management.
Monitor compliance with all affordable housing programs and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage the property's operating budget, monitor expenses, maximize revenue, and oversee rent collections.
Foster positive resident relationships by addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Partner with the maintenance team to ensure the property is well maintained and service requests are completed in a timely manner.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers on capital improvement and maintenance projects.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to ownership and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

3+ years of property management experience.
Strong knowledge of affordable housing compliance.
Experience with Project-Based Section 8 preferred.
Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, rent collections, and expense control.
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
Proficiency with property management software (Yardi or similar) and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
