Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Technician and become a vital part of delivering exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians by providing technical assistance, performing diagnostic procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare. Your expertise will help create a compassionate environment where pets and their owners feel confident and cared for. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your veterinary skills while making a meaningful difference in animals’ lives every day.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
Prepare animals for procedures by performing animal restraint, administering medications, placing catheters, drawing blood, and monitoring vital signs.
Conduct laboratory work including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests to support accurate diagnoses.
Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitoring devices with proficiency.
Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical assistance and animal catheterization to prevent infections.
Manage pet care routines including grooming, feeding, and kennel management to ensure animals’ comfort and safety.
Support emergency medicine efforts by providing critical care, IV insertion, vascular access, and assisting with critical & intensive care protocols.
Answering client calls, scheduling, and confirming appointments
Greeting and guiding clients to exam rooms
Managing medical records, charts, logging controlled drugs, and client correspondence
Processing client payments
Filling patient medications

Skills

Veterinary Technician experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to ensure optimal pet comfort.
Proficiency in veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy to accurately assist in procedures.
Hands-on experience with veterinary anesthesia, including general anesthesia and veterinary anesthesia monitoring.
Skilled in dog handling, animal restraint to facilitate safe interactions.
Laboratory experience including phlebotomy (blood collection), diagnostic radiology, and laboratory work for accurate testing results.
Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment scheduling.
Strong understanding of emergency medicine protocols, medication administration, and veterinary surgical assistance.
