Position: Culinary Expeditor
Reports to: Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs
CLUB INFORMATION:
Founded in 1900, the Lancaster Country Club is a highly ranked Platinum Club of America and is one of the finest private clubs in all of Pennsylvania. Facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole golf course, 9 tennis courts, 3 platform tennis courts, aquatic, and fitness facilities, along with two separate dining establishments located in both our Clubhouse and Activities Pavilion. LCC was recently the host of the 2024 U.S. Women's Open Championship, which was incredibly successful and brought tremendous accolades to the club. The club has become more family-oriented, featuring events and amenities for every demographic while focusing on ever increasing programs for youth, including a summer camp, swim team, youth social events as well as extensive junior golf and tennis programs.
POSITION PROFILE:
Lancaster Country Club is looking to fill this year-round, full-time position. The Culinary Expeditor will be the primary point of contact between the kitchen and the front-of-house staff for our Flynn Bar & Grill. They will communicate with the Chefs, the orders from dining room into the kitchen, relaying special requests or modifications. They will also relay information to servers about order status. They will review menu items to ensure they’re consistent with the order request prior to serving to members and guests and will communicate any inconsistencies with the Chef to correct. The Culinary Expeditor will “finish” plates per the direction of the Chef when appropriate. The Culinary Expeditor will ensure that all TO GO orders are organized, packaged and labeled responsibly to include all necessary items including sauces, dressings, added proteins and condiments.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY:
- Manages the flow of orders from servers to the kitchen, prioritizing and dispatching them efficiently.
- Has attention to ticket times to ensure timely delivery of menu items to tables.
- Understands each menu item and its preparation and is able to discuss and answer questions regarding them.
- Learns and understands table numbers and seat positions in The Dining Room and Flynn Bar.
- Learns and understands the “Steps of Service” with respect to serving tables and members.
- Verifies that each dish is prepared correctly, correct plating specifications, and meets standards before leaving the kitchen.
- Acts as the primary communication hub, relaying special requests or modifications to the chefs and informing servers about order status.
- Will assist with final touches like garnishing or adding condiments as required.
- Ensures that all orders for a table are ready to be delivered together and are sent out promptly.
- Addresses any discrepancies or issues with orders to enhance member satisfaction.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Prior working experience in a private club, restaurant, hotel or resort setting is required.
- Must be able to read and understand the English language.
- Familiarity with Point of Sale systems is encouraged.
- Excellent communication skills and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to stay calm and work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Works well with others and within a team.
- Respectful and courteous to all members, guests and fellow co-workers.
- Must have open availability, and the availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and reach in any direction.
